Viola & John at Lincoln's Cottage

With our heartfelt thanks to Viola and John and their wonderful families for this amazing wedding day.

There are some days that are just plain magic.   Viola heaped up her stunning Vera Wang gown, so you could barely see her, ducked under a giant tarp and ran through the rain for the front door of Lincoln's Cottage.    This may sound funny but it was absolutely beautiful.

In many cultures rain is good luck on a wedding and it is true.  The rooms of Lincolns cottage were lit by the warm glow of candle light and the stunning long windows made for such a romantic, intimate atmosphere.

During the Civil War, President Lincoln and his family resided at Lincoln Cottage.    Lincoln enjoyed the cool breeze from the long windows and the peace of this beautiful home.   It is said he drafted the Emancipation Proclamation at here.    There is a chair at the Lincoln Cottage still saved for him.

What a wonderful day!  Congratulations Viola and John.

Our special thanks to Sehand Miraminy of Lincoln Cottage and Kara Marshall at Main Event Catering for a wonderful day and all of your help.

  1. How fabulous post from this stylish wedding ceremony! I am so pleased to read through this fabulous post here. Anyways, I also have been trying to find such a beautiful gown for my big day. I want a simple wedding so have booked one of the home studios NYC for our family reception and hoping that will be able to have the wedding of our dreams.
